What Boomjack collects

Nothing. Boomjack has no accounts, servers, ads, analytics or tracking. We, the developer, do not collect, receive, store or sell any information about you.

On your device

Your mixtapes and records — their names, the song titles, and links to the files or folders you picked — and your settings, such as the timing for each speaker. They stay in the app and in your device's backup, and deleting Boomjack deletes them.

Nearby devices

While you're on air, nearby devices running Boomjack — including ones on the same Wi-Fi network — can see that your station is on and the name of the mixtape or record playing. Anyone who tunes in receives the music and the song titles, over a direct link that isn't encrypted.

When you tune in, your device tells the station what kind of device it is (for example "iPhone"), a random ID that changes every time the app starts, and technical details about playback. None of it passes through us.

Microphone

When you play through a Bluetooth or AirPlay speaker, or a TV, Boomjack listens for a few seconds to time it, using soft ticks it plays or the music itself. What it hears is analyzed on your device and discarded at once. It is never saved or sent anywhere.

Local network

Used only to find nearby devices running Boomjack and to connect to them.

Children

Boomjack collects no information from anyone, including children.
